Pork and Aburaage Rolls

This is just aburaage and pork layered and rolled together and simmered.
It's really delicious and cute too.

Roll them up very tightly. If the pork is too thick, you can't make a triple rolls, so watch out for that.
You can adjust the size of the rolls by making single or double rolls! If you do a single roll, you can skewer with toothpicks. Recipe by Sachikukkari-

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 80 gramsThinly sliced pork
  2. 3pieces Aburaage
  3. 500 mlA) Water
  4. 2 tbspA) Soy sauce
  5. 1 tbspA) Sugar
  6. 1 tbspA) Mirin
  7. 1 tbspA) Sake
  8. 1 tspA) Dashi stock granules

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Pour boiling water over the aburaage to remove the oil.

  2. 2

    Lay the pork on top of the aburaage (no need to open it up). Roll up very tightly.

  3. 3

    When one roll is done, wrap another set of pork and aburaage around it.

  4. 4

    Wrap a 3rd set of pork and aburaage around the 2nd one. Secure with 4 bamboo skewers.

    Cut in between the skewers...

    ...to make 4 rolls that look like lollipops.

    Lay the rolls in a pan. Add the A. ingredients and turn the heat on to high. When it comes to a boil, lower the heat to medium, and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half.

    Serve without the skewers...

    ...or with the skewers, either way is OK.

    This is a double-roll instead of a triple.
