Tasty and Easy Basic Udon Noodle Soup Base

Has it been 5 or 6 years since I learned this recipe?
I haven't bought soup base for my noodles ever since.

Besides noodles, you can use this soup base for all kinds of soup.

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 300 mlDashi base (or 300 ml water + granulated dashi soup base)
  2. 1 tbspSoy sauce
  3. 1/2 tbspMirin
  4. 1/2 tspSalt

Cooking Instructions

    Add all the ingredients to a pot. Bring to a boil. Add the noodles. You're done in just a blink of an eye, once the soup comes to a slight simmer again.

    I use koikuchi (regular) soy sauce. If you use usukuchi (light-colored) soy sauce, the color will be paler, and the soup will taste a bit more mellow.
