Chinese Soup with Lettuce and Egg in 5 Minutes

You can tear the lettuce by hand. I wanted to make a quick soup with less washing up to do. I slightly altered the seasonings to my favorite turnip soup recipe.

You can use mizuna greens instead as you can also shred by hand and they are easy to use. Don't overcook and enjoy the crispy texture. Adding grated sesame seed, sesame oil and seasoned nori seaweed makes this soup richer, easy, and tasty. It's also delicious over rice!! Recipe by Umemikkii

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 3leaves Lettuce
  2. 1Egg
  3. 1Seasoned nori seaweed
  4. 400 ml●Water
  5. 2 tsp● Chinese soup stock
  6. 2 tsp●Soy sauce
  7. 2 tsp●Ground sesame seeds
  8. 1 tsp○Katakuriko
  9. 2 tsp○Water
  10. 1/2 tspSesame oil

Cooking Instructions

    Combine the ● ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil, tear the lettuce and add to the pot.

    Combine the ○ ingredients, add to the pot, and thicken the sauce.

  3. 3

    While stirring, pour in the beaten egg to the pot a little at a time. When the egg floats to the surface, remove from heat and add sesame oil. Transfer to a serving bowl and top with shredded nori seaweed.
