Ingredients

  1. For the Dough
  2. 4 Cupsflour
  3. 1 tspSalt
  4. 1/2 tspSugar
  5. 1/2Simas sachet Butter(125g)
  6. water as required
  7. 1 tbspmilk
  8. 1egg
  9. For the Filling
  10. 1 1/2 CupMinced meat
  11. 1/4 CupBlended or crushed red peppers and onions
  12. 1/2 tbspCurry
  13. 1/2 tspThyme
  14. Water
  15. 1egg (for egg wash)
  16. 2 tbspFlour paste

Cooking Instructions

    Sift the flour and mix with baking powder milk powder, salt,sugar then whisk the cold egg and add altogether

  2. 2

    Then add the cold butter into the flour mixture and mix with your hand until you form a crumbly texture then add moderate amount of water to form a dough and then refrigerate.

    Saute chopped onions with garlic and ginger paste into a frying pan with 2tbsp of Oilhen add the minced meat and continue to mix until its well cooked

    Then add the chopped carrots and potatoes followed by moderate amount of water

  5. 5

    Add the seasonings,thyme,Curry,flour paste and salt and mix

  6. 6

    Close the frying pan and allow to cook properly for 5minutes on low heat until the carrots and potatoes are soft

    Bring out the dough and cut it into 10 equal size and use your rolling pin to roll it flat then add 1 1/2 tbsp of your filling and at the middle of the flattened dough and then take the one side of the edge of the dough and close it taking it to other edge then using a fork pinch the edges

    Mix 1egg with 1/2 tbsp of water and rub on top of the pie then using a fork punch the dough to create small holes

    On a tray with a parchment paper on it arrange the pies leaving some meter. between each other

    And bake for 15minutes until there done

    Then Serve.
