Ingredients

20 minutes

  1. 8 slicesWhole wheat multigrain bread
  2. Long sliced cucumber 1 medium
  3. Long sliced tomato 1 large
  4. 1 tablespoonCornflour
  5. Milk 3/4 th cup
  6. 2 tspButter
  7. 1/2 cupBoiled corn
  8. Finely chopped capsicum 1 medium
  9. 1Finely chopped onion
  10. 1 tspGinger garlic paste
  11. Salt, chilli powder, chaat masala, as per taste
  12. 2 tspTomato sauce
  13. 1 tablespoonMayonnaise sauce
  14. 1 tspmelted butter to brush on top
  15. Electric or stove top Sandwich maker
  16. Orange juice to serve along

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    White sauce:
    Heat a pan. Add 1 tsp butter. Slow roast the cornflour for 1 to 2 minutes on it. Switch off the heat. Then slowly add the warm milk and blend together with a wire whisk. Add seasonings as per taste. Add some more milk in. When the mixture is lump free, heat it again for 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer to a glass bowl.
    Then cool to room temperature. Keep covered till use. White sauce is ready.

    Now heat another pan. Add remaining butter. Then add chopped onion, Ginger garlic paste and saute till aromatic.

    Then add the corn and capsicum, salt, sprinkle 1 tablespoon water.and cook till they are soft.

    Add the seasoning as per taste. Add lemon juice on top. Add tomato ketchup for extra moistness. Mix all well. Filling is ready.

    Arrange the bread slices. Mix mayonnaise sauce in the white sauce for extra creaminess. Apply the sauce on one side of all the slices.

    Spread the prepared white sauce on the base. Then place a spoonfull of filling. Add tomato and cucumber slices and sprinkle with chaat masala. Then cover with the top slice. Press well. Brush with melted butter.Grill it for 5 minutes on both sides in an electric or hand held griller.

    When the sandwich is golden on top, remove and cut in a triangle shape.

    Serve immediately with juice or tea/coffee and enjoy!
