Simple Onion Rice

Rice pilaf is yummy and not super complicated. I'm low carb now but I'll still make my family rice as a side from time to time. I believe using Jasmine rice is the key!

I had a Lobster previously steamed so I decided to do something else with it besides eating with butter, I decided on Lobster Fried Rice came out delish ...and made a sushi roll as well.

I was craving a rice pudding, but needed to do something to go with our grilled chicken. So I came up with a savory rice pudding that is creamy and flavorful. I had frozen broccoli on hand, but sautéed spinach would also be good. Feel free to put in whatever seasonings work for you. My pre-cooked rice already had some seasoning in it, so the measurements here are approximate for plain rice.

In our house, making fried rice is my husband's job. But once day, I had to make it. My husband taught me that salmon fried rice was hard to mess up, so I just went ahead and made it and it turned out great. As long as you follow the tips, you can vary it by adding lettuce, kimchi, bacon, or whatever you like.If you are having fried rice for lunch, take the rice out of the freezer the night before. If you're having it for dinner, take the rice out in the morning right after you wake up. I can't explain it well, but if the frozen rice defrosts enough to be nice and separate, it's good to go. My family's Oyako-don always had potatoes in it. I remembered how delicious the fluffy potatoes were when seasoned with the sweet tasting sauce and wanted to make something simple without chicken included.When simmering the potatoes and onions, keep as much of the soup as possible so you can spoon it onto the rice later on. Add mitsuba (wild Japanese parsley) or green onion as garnish, for a nice presentation. Recipe by yaburie

--Use generous amounts of green pepper, onion and ginger. These three ingredients are important. (I tried using onion when I had no green onions in. I felt it needed a touch of green, so I added green peppers. I like this version.) You can add other ingredients, too. Recipe by Raby

Great use for left over rice. Goes well with any meat. I only had onions at the time, but load this dish up with veggies for better results. Carrots, celery, cabbage etc...

Didn’t have frozen peas or green onion so I just used purple onion and carrots for the win 🙌🏼🥰
