Beef stew with Matoke

Matoke is one of the foods that originated from a tribe in Kenya called Kisii. It is easy to prepare. You can also try my recipe.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Chop the beef into pieces then wash. Peel off the bananas and then cut into halves and wash too.
- 2
Wash your tomatoes and onion and chop separately. Put the beef in a cooking pot and add salt and a little water. Cover the pot and boil for 45 minutes over medium heat. Let it boil till tender.
- 3
Drain the excess water and put it aside for soup later. Add the onions to the boiled beef with some oil.
- 4
Let the mixture cook for a few minutes then add the tomatoes. Once the tomatoes have soften add the bananas and stir. Then add the preserved soup (if not enough add some water for soup). Add the curry powder.
- 5
Cover the mixture and let it simmer for 30 minutes or until the bananas are tender or soft.
- 6
Remove from heat and serve hot. Yummy!! Try it out.
