This recipe will make 1 double pie crust or a dozen medium tarts. The trick to tender pie crust is to NOT over handle it. This should not be re-worked more than once.

This recipe will make 1 double pie crust or a dozen medium tarts. The trick to tender pie crust is to NOT over handle it. This should not be re-worked more than once.
Cooking Instructions

In a bowl, combine the flour, shortening, butter and salt. Cut together until the fats are in small pea sized pieces.

In a measuring cup mix together the cold water, vinegar, sugar, and egg with a fork.

Add the liquids to the dry ingredients and blend with a fork. Form into a flattened ball. Dust the counter with flour and roll out the pastry.

This pastry may be refrigerated or frozen for later use.
