Salmon with Caramelized Pears and Onions

Salmon is a favorite in my household, and is something I cook weekly. So when my husband had a craving for salmon, the day before my grocery haul I had to get creative with what I had in the refrigerator, and it came out DELICIOUS!!! 😋😍
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to broil.
- 2
Cook salmon until about 1/4 of the bottom turns light pink.
- 3
Pat salmon dry and season with salt and pepper.
- 4
In a large pan on medium-high heat add oil. Once oil is hot, place salmon fillets in skin side down.
- 5
Remove salmon from pan and place in a baking dish. Pour whatever oil is left over on top of the salmon, and place in the oven.
- 6
While the salmon is cooking; using the same pot, on medium heat add in water and butter.
- 7
Broil salmon for 13 minutes.
- 8
Once the butter has melted add in the onions, pears, and sugar.
- 9
Turn heat up to medium-high and cook for 8 minutes or until the onions and pears have turned golden and the water has thicken into a syrup.
- 10
Add the caramelized pears and onions on top of your salmon fillets and serve! In the photo I served my salmon with a side of my veggie tumeric rice. 😄

Yes. Maple syrup. The one used for pancakes. Here, it reveals its wild, savory side...PS: the ingredients are measured per person. And though the recipe calls for only one lime, if you like citrus, you can squeeze more limes on top of the fish once served... Felix Cortes -

Simple recipe and absolutely delicious! I used dried herbs as didn't have fresh thyme or dill available when I made this. You can remove the salmon skin before serving if you prefer - it comes off very easily after baking in the oven. #nikicuisineRecipe source: Dave Lieberman from Food Network Favorites Niki Freeman -
Seared Salmon with Onion-Balsamic Sauce Seared Salmon with Onion-Balsamic Sauce
I made this recipe because my husband loves salmon.Raw salmon isn't my favorite, but I find it alright when it's seared. This goes well with the onion-balsamic sauce.-The amount of salmon in the photograph is 200 g.-Make sure to sauté the onion well. It becomes sweet and blends well with the sauce.-You can save time by microwaving the onion before you sauté in Step 3.-The salmon crumbles easily when cut freshly cooked. Make sure it's cooled down slightly, and slice with a sharp knife. For 1 to 2 servings. Recipe by putimiko cookpad.japan -
