Ingredients

  1. 1 boxmoist white cake mix
  2. 1large box cherry flavored Jello
  3. 1large box lime flavored Jello
  4. 1 jarcherries
  5. 1large container of cool whip

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Bake your cake in two round cake pans according to the directions on the box. set aside & let cool. I recommend using "bakers joy" to grease your pans ! Works magically.

  2. 2

Mix the Jello. use 1 cup cold water, & 1 cup boiling water for each flavor. So 2 cups of Cherry Jello liquid on the cherry layer.. & 2 cups of Lime jello liquid for the lime layer.

  3. 3

Keep cake layers in the pan & poke holes in your cake once it cools... using a fork, straw or whatever you choose to poke your cake with ;) haha

  4. 4

Pour the red Jello liquid over one layer, and the green Jello liquid over the other layer. it may seem like too much liquid, but trust me !! Its not. Pour it all !!

  5. 5

Stick both layers, pan & all... into your refrigerator & let it "jello-fy" for 3-4 hours.

  6. 6

Take your cake pans out of the refrigerator, and once you remove the first layer from the pan, spread coolwhip over the top (BE CAREFUL !! it's very moist. & can fall apart easily. if you used bakers joy cooking spray you should be able to run a knife around the cake against the pan & then with a little patience & effort it should come out in one piece.) stack on the second layer & do the same.

  7. 7

Top with cherries & shaaaa-bam ! a festive looking delicious masterpiece. enjoy <3

  8. 8

    Keep refrigerated !!!

I love it. I made a red white and blue cake for the 4th of July. I only had red at my disposal. So I made it with one layer of jello, another layer with food dye, and then the cool whip held it together. I will warn you though. If you use super moist mix, it's really good but it can fall apart as you put it together.
