Brad's Brussel sprouts and cabbage braised in stout

Ingredients

  1. 1-1 1/2 lbsBrussel sprouts, trim end and cut in half
  2. 1/2LG head of cabbage course chopped
  3. 1shallot, chopped
  4. 1/2red onion, chopped
  5. 2 tbsminced garlic
  6. 1 lbcottage bacon, chopped
  7. Sea salt and black pepper
  8. 6 Ozimperial stout
  9. 1 tbscider vinegar
  10. 3 tbsbutter

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Heat butter in a LG wok. Add onion, shallots, bacon, and Brussels. Saute until Brussels start getting soft on the edges.

    Add vinegar and cook off 1 minute.

  3. 3

    Add rest of ingredients. Turn heat to low and cover. Stir every few minutes.

  4. 4

    When everything is tender, plate and serve with corned beef. Enjoy

cooking is a passion of mine. I started when I was very young and I had to drag a milk crate around to see over the counter. taught by a career cook (my grandmother ). I have always tried to push the boundaries of conventional cooking. I prefer cooking wild game. when I can get my hands on it, but fish is more readily available for me. I raise and butcher most of the livestock that I use for my conventional recipes. I hope everyone can find a few recipes they like in my list.
