Poori--Indian Deep-Fried Bread Poori--Indian Deep-Fried Bread
In India, this deep-fried bread is served at celebrations or when having guests. Since chapati or other traditional breads take time to make, whereas poori is done as soon as both sides are deep fried, making it perfect when serving many guests. I had a chance to make them when visiting my parents.Be careful when handling boiling hot oil.A 50/50 blend of flour and whole wheat flour gives the bread a perfect crisp texture. The amount of water is approximate, so adjust as necessary while kneading.Leftovers can be reheated in the toaster. For 2 servings [6-8 pieces]. Recipe by Plabar cookpad.japan -
Youtiao - Chinese Fried Bread Youtiao - Chinese Fried Bread
I wanted to eat Youtiao! But since I can't easily get my hands on them, I decided to try making them. I compared various recipes there were many different variations like; using Ammonium bicarbonate, and leaving it to rest over night, but I wanted to make something that was easy to make with a leavening agent I had in my house. In step 3, the dough will still be a bit rough and a bit hard but that is okay. Make sure to let the dough rest properly and and it will become very elastic. I also made soy milk soupto go with this, but my husband eats it as is. Recipe by kiwicafe cookpad.japan -

Stale Bread with Eggs, Milk, Honey, and Peanuts Stale Bread with Eggs, Milk, Honey, and Peanuts
Stale bread with eggs and milk, made into a beignet-like treat with honey and roasted peanuts. This is an economical dessert. There's always leftover bread at home that we don't use, so I thought of presenting it in a nice way, suitable even for unexpected guests. Sometimes we don't have anything for breakfast with coffee, and this is economical and quick to prepare. isabel maloumTranslated from Cookpad Lebanon
