Ingredients

  1. 1 canblack beans
  2. 1 canpinto beans
  3. 1 cankidney beans
  4. 1 canhominy
  5. 2Roma tomatoes (diced)
  6. 2 tbspchili powder
  7. 1 tspsalt
  8. 1 tsppepper
  9. 1 tsporegano
  10. 1 tspcumin
  11. 1 tsppaprika
  12. 1 tspgarlic powder
  13. 1 lbground beef
  14. 1/2red onion (diced)
  15. 3garlic cloves
  16. 1 tbspcilantro

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse the beans and hominy. Place in a stock pot. Add tomatoes.

    Add six cups of water to the beans.

    In a separate bowl, mix: chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, salt, pepper.

    Add the spices to the beans. Cook on medium heat.

    In a separate pan: cook the beef.

  6. 6

    When the beef is half way cooked, add red onions, cilantro and the garlic.

  7. 7

    When the onions have softened, add the beef mixture to the beans.

    Cover. Let simmer for at least two hours. Stir occasionally.
