Kahlua Mudslide Trifle

This is a family favorite. Light and fluffy and perfectly chocolaty.

#newyear2025 I vow to waste less. I have a habit of buying ingredients to make something and then don’t get to make it and then ingredients expire and get tossed. I found this recipe 2 years ago I assume online. My ingredients are good so this recipe gets it day!

The recipe that follows is called a Strawberry Shortcake Trifle and not Strawberry Shortcake as it incorporates vanilla pudding instead of ice cream. It has become my go-to dish when I am asked to bring dessert for a crowd. It’s easy and everybody likes strawberries, cake, pudding, and whipped cream. When I make this recipe I usually have some leftovers as not everything will fit in the pan, so even if I leave my dish behind at the party, I know that a midnight snack awaits me at home! You can also readily adapt this recipe for folks that are on a low sugar diet by substituting Splenda for the sugar in the strawberries and using artificially sweetened pudding and whipped topping.

My friend makes this for every family reunion, and there are never any leftovers!

My 10yr help make this , he had so much fun. A good dessert if your making a new dish and your not sure if the kids will eat it ... just set this big bad boy out on the table at dinner time and watch dinner disappear to get that dessert.

Liqueur made from coffee beans always has a very high alcohol content.And it doesn't taste like Kahlua.I live in a country where Kahlua isn't available in shops. I usually buy it in duty-free import shops. When I tried instant coffee, it tasted really similar to Kahlua, so I did a bit of experimenting.In order to get this how I like it, I made it over 10 times.This time, I used 35 % Eau Du Vie (sweet brandy). I can't drink strong alcohol because of my age, so I only used 120 ml. If you use 150 ml it's quite strong -- I think probably the same as Kahlua. Probably.... the real stuff should be around 20%. Super easy Trifle..Kid friendly recipe...I also have a sour cream pound cake recipe, that I used for this .so easy to make one and cheaper than the frozen stuff. (Take a look it’s in my recipes somewhere)This is great to take to any get together.

This is the recipe I use for my strawberry cheesecake trifle.( I have a easy recipe for that as well.) This pound cake is so easy and you should already have everything on hand. Can add a zest of a lemon 🍋 or an orange 🍊.but I have left that out , iam sure that would be great in the Trifle as well.

Needed somthing cheap, large enough for 12 people but somthing to WOW everyone ....this was so perfect !! Especially enjoyable in the summer when the fruit is to die for and affordable, I would be selfish if I didn't share with everyone!! :) its just too good. Hope you Enjoy!!!

This is an unusual mix of flavor, and is easy to make even though there are alot of ingredients in it. There's no cooking just use your processor.

Whenever I drink hot cocoa, I like adding a little bit of coffee. It makes the drink more flavorful and delicious!So I rearranged a recipe for cocoa pudding and tried making a dessert with cocoa and coffee.When you are using instant coffee granules, it might be hard to dissolve (even though that's the reason I thought of using granules in the first place...lol).
