Ingredients

3 servings
  1. For paneer pakoda:--
  2. 1/4 cupcornflour
  3. 1/4 cupmaida/all purpose flour
  4. 1/2 tspGarlic paste
  5. 1/2 tspginger paste
  6. 1 tspsoya sauce
  7. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder / lal mirch powder
  8. 1/4 tspsalt
  9. 1/4 tspblack pepper powder
  10. 1/4 cupwater
  11. 200 gmpaneer--cut in cubes
  12. As neededoil for deep frying
  13. For gravy:---
  14. 4 tspoil
  15. 2 clovesGarlic, finely chopped
  16. 2 tspginger, finely chopped
  17. 4 tbspor 2 small spring onion, finely chopped
  18. 2 tbspor 1 small onion, finely chopped
  19. 1small to medium sized capsicum(green & red), cubed
  20. 2green chilli, slit
  21. 2 tspvinegar
  22. 2 tspsoy sauce
  23. 1 tspred chilli sauce
  24. 1/2 tspkashmiri red chilli powder
  25. 1/4 tspblack pepper powder
  26. 1/4 tspsalt or as required
  27. 1/2-1 tspsugar or add as required
  28. 1 tbspcorn flour
  29. 2-3 tbspwater for dissolving corn flour
  30. 1 cupwater
  31. 2-3spring onion green to be added later(optional)
  32. As neededSome sesame seeds for garnishing

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Firstly, in a large mixing bowl add 1/4 cup corn flour,1/4 cup maida, 1/4 tsp pepper, ½ tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste.

    Add 1/4 cup water and prepare batter.

    Prepare a smooth, lump free and flowing consistency batter.

  4. 4

    Further dip cubes of paneer / cottage cheese into batter and coat.

  5. 5

    Deep fry in hot oil stirring occasionally.

    Fry the paneer till they turn golden and crisp.

  7. 7

    Drain off the fried paneer onto a kitchen paper and keep aside.

    Prepare the the gravy by heating 4 tsp oil and saute 2 cloves garlic.

    Also add 2 tbsp spring onion, 2 tbsp onion and 2 green chilli. saute well.

    Furthermore add 1 capsicum (green & red) or green only and saute slightly.

    Additionally, add 2 tsp vinegar, 2 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp chilli sauce, 1/4 tsp pepper and 1/4 tsp salt.here add 1 tsp sugar or tomato ketchup according to taste.

    Saute on high flame till the sauce thickens.

    Now prepare corn flour water by dissolving 1 tbsp corn flour in 2-3 tbsp water and after that add 1 cup water.

    Pour the corn flour water and stir continuously till the gravy thickens and turns glossy.

    Turn off the flame and add in fried paneer. mix well till the paneer gets coated well with gravy.

    Finally, serve chilli paneer gravy recipe garnished with some sesame seeds.
