#kidstiffin #itsprocessoverproduct Malai toast makes for a delicious breakfast or snack dish. It is soft and creamy on top with goodness of veggies and crispy on the bottom just like a toast should be. I believe it is a popular street food from Kolkata. Make some noise Kolkata folks... is this so?
.
It can be made as healthy as you like with vegetable options varying from capsicums, onions, tomatoes to carrots, etc. As for me this is the only approved way my son would have carrots in his food!😆 He says if carrots are served this way, he has no issue eating them.

Sharing a simple & easy recipe for this yummy malai toast for you all to try.

Ingredients

30min
12 Toasts
  1. 2mediumCarrot grated with medium setting
  2. 3Green chillies finely chopped
  3. 1mediumOnion finely chopped
  4. 2 tbspCoriander leaves finely chopped
  5. 1/4 cupFresh cream
  6. 1/2 tspKashmiri red chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tspSalt

Cooking Instructions

30min
  1. 1

Finely chop onion, green chillies and coriander leaves. Finer the vegetables are chopped, easier it becomes to spread on bread. Peel & grate the carrots with the medium side of your grater.

  2. 2

Transfer all the ingredients to a mixing bowl. Add fresh cream to it. You may use sure bought fresh cream or the one saved from milk at home. Both work fine. Just give it a good mix to form smooth consistency, if using home one.

  3. 3

    Mix all the ingredients well.

  4. 4

Apply a thin layer on a slice of bread by using either the back of a soon or a buyer knife. Spread evenly.

  5. 5

On medium flame, heat a non-stick pan. Place the toasts topping side down and cook for a couple of minutes until slightly brown.

  6. 6

Check for doneness and turn the toast to roast on the other side until slightly brown and crisp.

  7. 7

Slice the toasts in desired shape and serve with hot & sweet tomato ketchup.

  8. 8

Story of "The Red Plate Chronicles"❤️I'm Meena - an architect by education, a home-cook with 17+years of cooking experience, an amateur marathoner, mom to a teenager, wife to a great husband. They are the center of my universe!💜It is the journey of my kitchen adventures. I'll be sharing recipes of dishes I enjoyed making and that are for everyday cooking as well as party favourites.💙What to expect in my recipes?Lacto-Ova Vegetarian RecipesNo WheatNo PeanutsNo SoyEggs OcassionallyCoconut Rarely💚Born & brought up in 4 states of India & then marrying A & shifting continents, I adapted to varied cuisines & they have become such an integral part of us that it becomes difficult to distinguish them apart. Currently, Bangalore is the place we call "home".💛Are you haunted by the question, "What's cooking?". If yes, then you can relate to me. There are days I don't get off my bed in the morning until I know what I'm cooking for breakfast and lunch that day. During the time my son was appearing for board exams and I was keeping him away from eating outside; I took up the challenge of learning one new recipe & not repeating any dish for 30 days straight! That meant coming up with 90 different dishes including variations in recipes.😅 Soon, it became difficult to keep track of what I had cooked so far. Thus began this documentation.🧡While I continue with my adventure, I'm glad you all joined along, appreciated and enjoyed my work. Here's to a long journey ahead!🥂LoveM❤️
