Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the chopped mochi and milk in a pot. Heat over medium. Stir slowly.
- 2
If you want pink mochi ice cream, add strawberry jam. Stir until it becomes smooth and thick.
- 3
Once everything is smooth and combined, add the granulated sugar.
- 4
Spread the mixture onto parchment paper. Choose the size you like, but not too thick or too thin.
- 5
Freeze until firm.
- 6
Once it's firm enough, it's ready!
- 7
Dust with potato starch. If it's too hard, use the warmth of your hands to soften it slightly and wrap the ice cream.
- 8
It's done! You can change the jam or ice cream to make different types of mochi ice cream.
- 9
I also made a large heart-shaped mochi ice cream for a friend's birthday!

Soft Mochi Ice Cream Soft Mochi Ice Cream
I created this recipe while I was in the middle of making Yukimi Daifuku-like ice cream. I asked a friend to taste it, and she gave me the thumbs up, so I decided to upload the recipe. If it's completely frozen, the ice-cold mochi melts in your mouth. If it's partially frozen, the mochi and bean paste ice cream come together in perfect harmony. If it's melted, it's basically mochi coated with bean paste cream, which is also great.Tip: Try to roll out the dough thinly in Step 7. Try as hard as you can not to expose it to air while it's freezing. Recipe by Jun13 cookpad.japan -

Yukimi Daifuku (Mochi Dumplings Filled with Ice Cream) Yukimi Daifuku (Mochi Dumplings Filled with Ice Cream)
I live overseas, and my favorite Yukimi daifuku costs 3 times what they cost in Japan, so I really wanted to make them myself, and I was able to do so.In steps 6 and 7, the dough is very hot, but it cools down quickly. The dough is very easy to handle, so work patiently, trying not to rip it. When freezing the dough, try to wrap it up as air-tight as possible. 100 g of castor sugar may seem like a lot, but this prevents the dough from becoming hard, plus it makes working with the dough in steps 6 and 7 easy. If you are making it with the "Best Gyuuhi -," which reduces the sugar to 80 g, wait until the dough has softened at room temperature first before eating. For 6 to 8 dumplings. Top Quality Yukimi Daifuku (Mochi Filled with Ice Cream) Top Quality Yukimi Daifuku (Mochi Filled with Ice Cream)
I received some habutae mochi and usually I get sick of these after eating 2 or 3, so I came up with a different way to eat them.Even though they're simple to make, they make a special treat. There's nothing much to it.The ice cream will melt, so eat it up as soon as you make it!There's more mochi in these than in "Yukimi Daifuku", and that's what makes them tasty. Mochi Pizza Mochi Pizza
I made this dish using kagami-mochi (mochi rice cake decorations) from our New Year's decorations.Pay attention and adjust the heat while cooking. Adding some water prevents the mochi from getting burnt and helps it cook faster. You can freeze the sauce, so make a large amount and use it for later. It can be used not only for pizzas but also in pasta dishes. Matcha Green Tea Shaved Ice with Cute Mochi Balls Matcha Green Tea Shaved Ice with Cute Mochi Balls
It's boiling hot outside! So I created a chilled dessert that'll cool me from within. If you mix the dry ingredients all together, the mochi balls will become stiff, so add water to adjust the texture. If you plan to shape the mochi balls into characters, it's best if the dough is slightly on the softer side. Shape the dough on a sheet of parchment paper, then drop it into a pot of boiling water.
