Imagine waking up your husbands and kids to a house filled with the sweet smell of waffles on a Saturday or Sunday morning. Bliiiiissss..... I found this recipe online and tweaked it a little bit. Am glad I changed the recipe because the results were perfect.
Steps
- 1
In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 2
Pour in double cream/buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter. Stir until well combined. Do not use milk or the other buttermilk that you mix milk and lemon.
- 3
Cook the waffles by pouring 1/3 cup of batter into the waffle maker. Spread the batter evenly and close the waffle maker and let the waffle cook for 10mins for that crunchy brown effect.
- 4
Sit and be patient. Do not be tempted to open the waffle maker before then because you will ruin the waffles.
- 5
Remove the waffles when done and place them on a wire rack to cool. Do not stack the waffles up while they are hot or else they will become soggy. Stack them only when they are completely cooled.
- 6
Serve them warm will some milk. You can also serve with strawberries and some syrup. Enjoy.
