Wash arhar Daal. Put in pressure cooker and add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder and pressure cook till 5 whistles. Switch off the flame.

Heat oil in a karahi and put mustard seeds and rai and when they splutter add onions and stir for two minutes. Now Add all the chopped vegetables. Cover the lid. Cook for 5 minutes. Now Add tamarind Ball, sambhar masala, and curry leaves. Cook for two minutes.

Now add this veg mixture in pressure cooker containing cooked Daal and pressure cook again till 5 whistles.

Switch off the flame and let pressure releases automatically. Open the lid and check.

Heat 2 spoon cooking oil and put mustard seeds and whole red chilli. Put this tadka on Daal. Sambhar is ready to serve.
