Old Fashioned cranberry sauce

I know, I know. You are going to say, "Another recipe with cranberries?" What can I say? I love cranberries. This is a recipe that my wife uses from her mom. It is very basic and simple, but oh so good.
You can also use a quarter of this recipe to make my cranberry ice cream. All you need is about a cup and a half of this. #mycookbook

Holiday cranberry sauce Holiday cranberry sauce
The holiday meal is to be at our house this year. I received several canned food items. Most don't know that I refer to cook my meals from scratch and not use cans nor boxed foods when possible. Someone gave me more cranberry sauce than I could eat in a year so I decided to make my own and donate the cans to the needy. I hope everyone notices that they're not eating canned cranberry sauce! Let me know what you think of my very first shared recipe. Lisa -

I prepared this for a Thanksgiving dinner. It will harden when cooled, so keep this in mind and stop simmering when it's just a bit softer than you'd like, then store in a glass container. If you're using it as a sauce, add a bit of water to the cranberry jam and heat in the microwave to make a warm sauce. Cranberry Sauce Cranberry Sauce
Just to mention Cranberry Sauce transport me to a very special and important holidays: Thanksgiving Dinner in United States, Christmas Dinner and New Year celebration around the world. A delicious sauce very versatile that adapts to any bittersweet recipe, excellent companion for turkey, chicken, spiral ham meats, as a dressing for salads, etc.Despite its name of "salsa" it can even be used as a marmalade. It is very easy to prepare and I hope you like it.
