In a pressure cooker add dal and needed water.now add salt, Turmeric powder.cover with lid and wait until three whistles.in a tadka pan add oil and cumin seeds.now add onion and ginger-chilli paste and cook for five minutes.now add other spices and mix it.add tomato and Cook for two minutes.now add dal and boil for five minutes at medium flame.serve hot with rice and chapati.
