Ingredients

  1. For Boiling Chane
  2. 1 cupChickpeas
  3. 5 cupsWater
  4. 1 tspsalt
  5. For Chane Masala
  6. 2Onion chopped
  7. 3Tomatoes Chopped
  8. 1/4 cupTamarind pulp(sieved)
  9. 1 tspCumin seeds Roasted & roughly ground
  10. Salt as per taste
  11. 1 tspRed chilli powder
  12. 1 tspGaram masala
  13. 2Green chillies chopped finely
  14. 3lemons for juice
  15. 3 tbspAnaardana Chutney
  16. 2 tbspCoriander leaves chopped
  17. as neededKulcha
  18. as neededButter to apply on kulcha

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the chana in sufficient quantity of water for 6-8 hrs or overnight.

    In the morning, put them in the pressure cooker with 5 cups of water and salt on a high flame and boil for about 20 to 30 mins.

    Switch off the flame and let the pressure release in its own

  3. 3

    Now take a bowl and add chole in it. Make sure they must not have water in it.

  4. 4

    Take other ingredients mentioned under "chane masala" and add in the bowl one after another.

    Mix all the above mentioned ingredients very well so that all the spices are coated properly.
    Taste with a spoon, adjust the seasoning, if needed.

    Garnish with chopped tomatoes, onions and green coriander leaves and serve with buttered kulchas.
