Put in a pressure cooker and add 2 cups of water. Heat it at high flame. Add dal, salt, turmeric powder close the lid.

Let it cook one whistle.switch off the gas.

Take it back to the heat and cook uncovered.

Heat ghee in the pan. Add cumin seeds, garlic, ginger saute it till turn brown.

Add onion mix well, Cook till onions become till little caramelized.

Add chopped tomato,green chilli.cook till tomato mushy.

Add coriander powder, give a quick stir.take off the flame and pour the tempering over Dal.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with hot chapati.
