This is famous dessert in Salem. Healthy and tasty doesn't use much oil or ghee.
Steps

Soak rice for 4-5 hours. Grind to a fine paste adding water little by little.

Boil 1 cup water adding a pinch of salt.

When water boils add the rice paste along with 1 cup water used for washing and grinding.

After it's cooked and starts to thicken add the jaggery and mix till it's combined and comes together.

Next add the coconut pieces followed by grated coconut. Add ghee and mix well.

After adding ghee it forms a lumpy mass.To check if it's done touch with wet hands it should not stick.

Grease a plate with ghee and spread the halwa. Add little ghee on top and level with the back of a spoon to smoothen the surface.

Cool completely and cut into pieces.
