Soy Pupusas 🇸🇻

In our home, we don't eat pork, which is usually used to make the famous chicharrón for pupusas revueltas—a very popular variety in our country. So, I decided to make them with soy, which turns out similar to meat, and my family can enjoy my version of pupusas revueltas.
Steps
- 1
First, prepare the soy meat.
- 2
Next, mix the corn flour (masa harina) with room temperature water and 1 tablespoon salt. Knead the dough, then place it in a bowl for portioning. In another bowl, pour a generous amount of vegetable oil to use while handling the dough, along with the soy meat and kneaded quesillo cheese.
- 3
Shape the pupusas.
- 4
Take a little oil to help shape the pupusas so they don't stick to your hands or the griddle.
- 5
Cook the pupusas evenly on both sides on a preheated griddle (I make them on a comal over a wood stove).
- 6
Serve and enjoy!
