First wash and soak the toor dal and rice for half an hour.

In the pressure cooker, add ghee. Once the ghee heated then add ginger garlic, green chilli paste. Saute it for 2 mins. Now add turmeric powder and salt and mix it well. Lastly add rice, toor dal and required water. Give it a good mix.

Once the water start boiling,cover the cooker with the lid. On the slow flame, make 3 whistles. Let the cooker cool down.Meanwhile we will prepare buttermilk. In a jar add curd,cumin powder, salt, green coriander, water and mix it using the hand grinder.

Serve this buttermilk with hot Khichdi.
