Steps

Wash the rice and Dal separately. Drain and let it dry

Chop the onions

In a wok heat ghee and fry the onions until golden in colour. Set aside

In the same wok add to the ghee rice and Dal and fry until rice is brown in colour

Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin-black pepper powder and stir well.

Stir well and add boiled water till 1” about the rice level. Cook in slow flame. Once cooked add Salt and water is dry, the Bhuna Khichdi is ready to eat. Sprinkle the fried onions and enjoy hot
