Ingredients

30-40 mins
4 people
  • 1 cupmasoor daal (red lentil)
  • 500 mlwater
  • 1 tspsalt
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  • Bhagaar (tarka)
  • 5-6red chillies (round)
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  • 5-6 tbspoil

Steps

30-40 mins
  1. 1

    Clean and wash lentil.

  2. 2

    In a pan add water, salt, turmeric, red chilli, ginger garlic paste and lentil. Let it cook on medium heat (half covered pan) until the lentil is done.

  3. 3

    Add more water if required.

  4. 4

    In another pan heat oil (medium heat), simmer cumin seeds and red chillies in it. When hot enough pour the oil mixture onto the lentil soup.

  5. 5

    Serve hot and enjoy with boiled rice.
