Ingredients

1 hour approx.
4 - 5 servings
  • For Momo dough:
  • 2 cupsmaida / plain flour / refined flour
  • 1/2 tspsalt, or to taste 2 tsp refined oil
  • 1/2 cupwater, or as required
  • For Momo stuffing:
  • 2 tspolive oil
  • 1onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cupscabbage, shredded
  • 1carrot, grated
  • 1 cuppaneer crumbled
  • 1 tspGinger - garlic paste
  • 1/4 tspsalt, or to taste
  • 1 tbspsoy sauce
  • 1/2 tbspchilli sauce/ schezuan chutney
  • For Soup / jhol:
  • 1/4 cupsesame seeds / til
  • 1 tbspcumin / jeera
  • 2 tspoil
  • 3dried kashmiri red chilli
  • 1 clovegarlic, chopped
  • 1 cuptomato, chopped
  • handfulcoriander leaves
  • 1 inchginger, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 tspturmeric / haldi
  • 1/2 tspsalt, or to taste
  • 2 cupswater, or as required
  • 1/2 tspsugar
  • 2 tbsplemon juice

Steps

1 hour approx.
  1. 1

    Firstly, steam momos by preparing dough and stuffing.
    Further prepare soup / jhol by dry roasting sesame seeds and cumin till it turns golden.

  2. 2

    Further add oil and roast dried kashmiri red chilli, garlic.Add chopped tomato, coriander leaves, ginger, turmeric and salt.

  3. 3

    Blend to smooth paste adding water as required.Transfer the prepared masala paste to a large kadai.Add in water and sugar.

  4. 4

    Mix well and boil for 5 minutes.
    Turn off the flame add add lemon juice.
    Now place the steamed momos in a plate and pour prepared soup / jhol.

  5. 5

    Finally, serve jhol momo hot.
