Ingredients

15minutes
1 serving
  • 1 cupSoaked moong dal
  • 1Chopped onion
  • 1Chopped tomato
  • as needed water to cook dal
  • 2Atta(wheat) bread slices
  • As neededOil for greasing
  • 2 tspOil
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 tspBlack pepper powder
  • 1/2 tspCoriander powder
  • Pinchchaat masala powder
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  • Pinchhing/asafoetida
  • 1/2 tspGrated ginger
  • 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  • as needed water for wetting the bread

Steps

    Heat oil in a pan and saute cumin seeds with hing.

  2. 2

    Now add grated ginger and saute it.

  3. 3

    Now add chopped onion and saute it.

  4. 4

    Now add chopped tomato and saute it.

  5. 5

    Now addturmeric powder,black pepper powder,coriander powder,salt and chat masala powder and mix well on sim.

  6. 6

    Now add soaked and drained yellowmoongdal and little water and let it cook on sim for few minutes till all the water is consumed and dal becomes dry.

  7. 7

    Now grease the toaster.

  8. 8

    Now take both the bread slices and cut their roundels.

  9. 9

    Roll these roundels with rolling pin.

  10. 10

    Slightly wet these slices with water.

  11. 11

    Now take a slice and place the moong dal mixture filling on it.

  12. 12

    Now cover with another bread slice and press it with hands and seal the corners by little water.

  13. 13

    Now place this kachori on the greased toaster and cook on sim gas till golden brown from both the sides.

  14. 14

    If need,then you can brush the kachori with little oil on top and let it cook on sim.

  15. 15

    Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice.
