Green grams are a best source of protein for vegetarian. A bowl of green gram soup is a healthy starter and can fulfill the nutritional need of protein.

Soak moong for at least one hour in warm water. In a pressure cooker take moong and pieces of tomato. Fill 1 -2 glass of water above the level of moong. Add salt and boil it for three whistles in a medium flame. Let the air passed and open the pressure cooker. Blend it till it became like gravy.

Stain it in a bowl it gives even texture. Now in a pan take 1/2 tsp of oil and heat it add asafoetida. Now add whole content and all dry ingredients. Boil for some time until it became thick soup. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice. You can add bread crumbs too.
