Making donuts from scratch, that too at home sounds difficult. But don't worry! Today I will be sharing with you a simplified, no fail recipe. You won't require eggs or yeast or oven to make them. Also we will be using very minimal ingredients too. Make this treat for your kids this weekend itself!
Steps
- 1
At first,in a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (maida, powdered sugar, baking powder and baking soda) together.
- 2
Now add 1tbsp oil and mix well.
- 3
To this add curd gradually and knead the dough. Remember, we have to add curd slowly as the dough should not be too soft. I have used just 1 tbsp of curd in my recipe.
- 4
Once the dough is ready, apply a little oil to it's surface and let it rest for 30-40min.
- 5
After 40min, divide the dough into small lemon sized balls.
- 6
In a kadai, heat oil for frying.
- 7
Roll the dough balls into little thick circular discs.
- 8
Now using small bottle cap, make a hole in the centre.
- 9
Once oil is hot, deep fry these donuts till golden brown. Remember you have to deep fry them on low to medium heat so that they get cooked from within too.
- 10
You can have them as it is or decorate them with chocolate sauce.
