Steps

Soak the daal and rice together for 30-35 minutes.

In a pot put oil and all sabut garam masalas,once they pop put onions and once light brown add ginger garlic paste and some water and cook for 5 minutes.

Add salt and then add remaining water,once it boil add the soaked rice and lentils and adjust the water and salt quantity.

Put on dum and let it cook until water dries and all is cooked.

Serve with achaar and podina chutney.
