These hotdogs are made from pork, beef, and veal. The chow chow was made at one of the orchards we stopped at in Georgia. Everything turned out so delicious the hotdogs had that snap so delicious. Chow chow recipe for the Southern United States was brought about around the mid-1800's. Hormel chili was first introduced around 1936-1937. The German Hofmann brand hotdogs in the late 1800's.

Ingredients

  1. 14 ounceold style hotdogs
  2. 1/2 cupsauerkraut
  3. 15 ouncechili no beans
  4. 6hotdog buns
  5. To taste yellow prepared mustard
  6. To taste Heinz tomato ketchup
  7. To taste chow chow
  8. 3 tablespoonswater for steaming
  9. 3 tablespoonswater to go with the sauerkraut

Steps

  1. 1

    Take 4 hotdogs and add to a skillet fry 2 minutes and turn a quarter turn. When each hotdog has turned a full rotation, add water and cover for 10 minutes to steam. Simmer the other 2 hotdogs in the sauerkraut covered for 20 minutes.

    Add mustard to the chow chow buns. Add mustard and ketchup to the all the way dogs. Heat the chili.

    Add boiled hotdogs to the mustard, ketchup buns, and the steam-fried dogs to the mustard bun.

    Add chow chow to both dogs. The mustard one is done. Add the chili and sauerkraut to the mustard, ketchup, chow chow dog. Serve I hope you enjoy!! I served this with the leftover soup I had.
