Tomato Sauce Tomato Sauce
I learned this while I was abroad. This is an easy version that's light on the oil. It's a simple and delicious all-purpose sauce with no frills!Be sure not to burn the garlic when cooking it. You can make various versions by adding meat, vegetables, white sauce, sour cream, curry powder, etc. If you want to have a thicker sauce, you can add some katakuriko potato starch to adjust the thickness. Homemade Tomato Sauce Homemade Tomato Sauce
I make and store this sauce every year during tomato season. If you don't want the seeds in the sauce, you can strain the sauce to remove them. This tomato sauce goes well with anything.Leave the tomatoes out at room temperature.Since all you have to do is boil, peel and simmer the tomatoes, this is very easy to make. This sauce has a wide variety of uses, such as pasta or simmered tomatoes, and it's very convenient to have stored and ready to use. (You can store it in freezer bags in the freezer as well.) Try making this tomato sauce during the summer. Recipe by Iriko cookpad.japan -
Pork loin steaks with mustard and butter sauce Pork loin steaks with mustard and butter sauce
Tonight's dinner was quick and easy, and came out well enough that I thought it was worth sharing. As usual, quantities and cooking times are after-the-fact estimates. Also, please be sure to cook your pork thoroughly and please taste the sauce throughout so you can adjust to your preferences. If anyone is interested, I served this with a small side of tomato with balsamic and fresh parsley (pictured above) and roast cauliflower (not in the picture). Jon -
Pasta with Creamy Marinara Sauce Pasta with Creamy Marinara Sauce
Had some extra marinara sauce and pasta so I whipped this yummy lunch together. Can also be eaten as a side or for dinner. Still delicious either way.Ps: This recipe feeds two people as a main dish and 3 people as a side(This measurement is based on what I can eat, so it might vary for adults perhaps.)Also, the pasta measurement should be 1 cup before cooking not after cooking. Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce
10 years ago, I heard Chef Ochiai (a celebrity chef in Japan) saying that if you roast whole vegetables, you can really bring out their umami and fragrance to make a rich sauce! And that you could store the sauce in the refrigerator! I've been making my own version at home and keeping it on hand since then. When sautéing the aromatic vegetables, brown them properly in order to make a rich tasting tomato sauce. Then, just simmer! Since the aromatic vegetables are removed, I could keep the sauce in containers sterilized with boiling water for more than a month in the refrigerator. You can use this sauce on pasta, on sautéed chicken, in egg dishes and all sorts of recipes. Recipe by kebeibiko cookpad.japan -

Rigatoni with Homemade Meat Sauce Rigatoni with Homemade Meat Sauce
I love to use rigatoni with meat sauce because it picks up the sauce so well! Also, I like to change my sauce ingredients depending on what I have around at the time, and what I'm in the mood for, as far as vegetables & toppings go. One thing I almost always add to my sauce is the brown sugar. The kids and I both enjoy the sweetness in the sauce. You can make this into a cheesy sauce by adding parmesan and/or other cheeses and even cream. You can make this into a savory & spicy sauce by adding crushed red pepper and/or other hot peppers. You can add vegetables to the sauce to make a "garden medley." And, you can even make this with vegan meat! Of course sauce will always get better the longer it simmers with the ingredients. This is made quick for dinner. However, if your heart is truly in making the sauce you can continue to simmer it for a few hours or even slow cook it in a crockpot. #pasta #pastasauce #meatsauce #spaghettisauce #pastanight #italiannight Chef Mommy Nessa
