Wash overnight soaked tuvar neatly and cook it in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles with 1/2 tsp salt.

Now roast dry coconut pieces, coriander seeds, cut onion, and take it in a mixer with ginger, garlic.

Make a fine paste in a mixer.

Now heat oil on medium flame, add mustard seeds when splutters add cumin seeds, now add hing, slow the flame. Add 2 tsp cut onion and saute for 1minute, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder,garam masala, salt, mix well, add the paste mix well, add 2 tsp water, saute till it leaves oil on slow flame.

Add cooked tuvar in it and mix well.

Add water to adjust desire consistency and let it boil for 5 minutes on slow flame.

Tuvar Aamti is ready to serve, it is served with chapati,jowar, or bajra roti or with hot rice.
