Orange candies in two varieties

Remove the zest of oranges and keep them aside. For candied orange peel, peel the oranges after removing zest as shown in the images.

Now peel the oranges and remove their seeds. Grind this for making juice.

Heat the juice in a non-stick pan. Add equal amount of sugar in the juice and heat them together. I have added 2.5 bowl juice and 2.5 bowl of sugar. Keep stiring.

Meanwhile boil water in another pan, add a pinch of salt to it. Boil all peeled strips in these water for 5 minutes.

Discard this water as it will be bitter in taste. Remove the peeled strips on a plate or surface.

Now keep stiring the orange juice while it's heating. Keep in mind to keep the flame low always during making these candies.

As soon as it's boiled for 8 to 10 minutes, add peeled strips to the juice and let them boil for another 5 minutes.

Meanwhile arrange a netted plate as shown in the image for removing the strips. Remove the strips on this plate to cool then down.

Now for hard candies, keep boiling the remaining juice till it's too thick to make candies.

Now pour this mixture using a spoon on a baking paper or a butter paper for making candies. Let these dry for overnight.

For sugar coating, wash mint leaves and let them dry under the fan for 10 minutes or so. You can also use dry mint leaves here.

Blend these leaves along with half bowl of sugar into fine powder.

Coat both your candies in these powder and enjoy them anytime you wish to along with your kids and adults.
