Ingredients

  1. 8large Cortland or (any tart apples) peeled, cored & sliced
  2. 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 1/2 tspcinnamon
  4. 1 1/2 Tblcornstarch
  5. pastry for a 2-crust 10-inch pie

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Mix together apples, sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch. Pour into pastry lined 10-inch cast iron skillet or 10-inch deep dish pie plate. Add top crust. Cut slits for steam. Cover outer rim with foil to prevent edge of crust from over browning. Bake at 400° for 60 minutes or until apples are cooked.
