I made this dish as an appetizer to this year's Beaujolais nouveau. The hanpen fish cake was half-price as well! You can use either easy melting type cheese or non-melting cheese. Without shiso leaves it is still tasty, but I like its flavour added to this dish. Please try it with shiso leaves. Recipe by Maa-a cookpad.japan -
Soft & Creamy Namehan (Nametake Mushrooms & Hanpen Fish Cake) Soft & Creamy Namehan (Nametake Mushrooms & Hanpen Fish Cake)
I wanted to make something different using hanpen, nametake, and fried tofu, and somehow came up with this! The thickness of the nametake may vary depending on the maker, so adjust the amount of mentsuyu accordingly to taste. If you add mentsuyu and it tastes too thick, dilute with water. If you over-boil, the flavor will become too thick, so be careful. In that event, dilute with water. Try out the nametake with other desired flavors such as kimchee. Do not rinse the surface oil off of the fried tofu. As with nameko tofu, serve this over rice or noodles! For serving 4. Black Hanpen Fish Cake Stew Black Hanpen Fish Cake Stew
This is my family's stew that I entered into a cooking sheet for stewed and boiled food . It is a stew I made using local Shizuoka black hanpen fishcake and vegetables!A delicious broth comes out of black hanpen fish cake and other ingredients! If you use a cooking sheet, then it will absorb the scum and excess oil, and make it difficult for the amount of broth to decrease. One sheet will do lots of work for you. We received some satsuma-age as a gift and I wanted to enjoy them in a different way from the usual. It's easy, so I don't have any special hints. If I were to add one, it's just to not over-cook the king oyster mushrooms in order to retain their texture. Recipe by bobitin cookpad.japan -

I had a bunch of leftover scraps of minced chicken and hanpen fishcakes, so I tried combining what I had in my fridge.I got caught up on whether or not to fry these, but I decided to cook these up simply and healthily. You don't cut an opening in Step 2, and cut it completely in half to make sandwiches.Scrambling the leftover egg mixture and using it as a topping might be nice. Fried Hanpen Fish Cake with Mentaiko and Mayo for Bento Fried Hanpen Fish Cake with Mentaiko and Mayo for Bento
I used the hanpen and mentaiko that had been sitting in my fridge, and it turned out delicious.Adding in the hanpen fish cake after mixing the mayonnaise and mentaiko will help to coat the fish cake more evenly.Hanpen fish cake falls apart easily, so mix gently. These will cook up differently depending on the toaster oven heat setting used, so keep an eye on it when cooking!I used lots of mentaiko, but it tastes delicious with about this much added. Fluffy Hanpen Fish Cakes Cooked in Aurora Sauce Fluffy Hanpen Fish Cakes Cooked in Aurora Sauce
My kid decided that they wanted to eat hanpen fishcakes when we were at the supermarket and stuck it in the shopping cart without asking. For Osechi Cake-Like Fluffy Date-maki (Rolled Fishcake Omelette) For Osechi Cake-Like Fluffy Date-maki (Rolled Fishcake Omelette)
Since everyone in my family loves date-maki, I always make it.I've made it with different ingredients, but this method of whipping the egg and hanpen separately received rave reviews. This recipe calls for separate whipping of the ingredients for a fluffy result.I put the baking tray inside the oven when I preheat. This way, both sides brown nicely, as shown in the photos. The pattern on the edges of the date-maki are made using an "oni-su" (thick-slatted bamboo sushi mat), but a regular sushi mat will do. Spicy Pork Burdock Cakes Spicy Pork Burdock Cakes
I wanted to use up burdock root I just happened to buy, so I made up a recipe using it with cheap pork offcuts.Be careful not to cut the pork too small, or the cakes may fall apart when you fry them. The texture may differ by the amount of the pork or burdock root, or the pork cut. If it's not sticking together well, use as much potato starch as you need. For 15 cakes. Recipe by Poron526 cookpad.japan
