Strawberry and Custard Parfait

This is a dessert that I have made since my children were little and it's always a big hit. It's also delicious with bananas. Use strawberry sauce to taste. You can use any toppings you like.

Use a small amount of cream for the very top. Please adjust the amount of strawberries to taste. You can also top the very center with cream. Try garnishing it with Pocky, cookies, or wafers. Heat the strawberry sauce in the microwave a bit longer than the recipe calls for (3 minutes + 2 minutes). Recipe by Yuuyuu0221

Ingredients

  1. 6Strawberries
  2. 4 tbspStrawberry sauce
  3. 6 tbspCustard cream
  4. 1Sponge cake or castella
  5. 1Whipped cream
  6. 1Granola

Cooking Instructions

    Lightly wash the strawberries and pat dry. Remove the stems and cut in half. Cut the sponge cake into bite-sized pieces.

    Put the granola in the dishes, add the custard cream and use a spoon to smooth the surface. Add the whipped cream and top with sponge cake. Add the cream.

    Garnish with strawberries and top with the strawberry sauce. You can also garnish with mint leaves and dust with powdered sugar.

    Use 1/2 of a recipe worth of the custard cream. Adjust to taste.

    Please refer tofor the sponge cake. You can store leftover sponge cake in the freezer.

    You can use store-bought whipped cream as well. If possible, use heavy cream with 35% milk fat.

    If you use store-bought jam instead of strawberry sauce, add a bit of water to loosen it before using.
