Easy Elmo Character Bento

This was for my husband's bento.
If you use ketchup to color the rice, don't use too much or it will become sticky. Add a little bit at a time.
If you don't have a cutter for Elmo's nose, it's soft enough so that you can use a toothpick or scissors to shape it.
It's real cute if you make the eyes and the mouth large! Recipe by syo_ya

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Use your desired amount of rice and mix with the deco-furi to add color. If you don't have deco-furi, you can use ketchup or yukari furikake instead.
- 2
Wrap up the two different colored clumps of rice in plastic wrap and shape into balls.
- 3
Cut a slice of carrot about 2.3 mm thick. Remove the skin, then put into a plastic bag with a bit of water and heat in the microwave for one minute. Then, when it softens, you can cut it!
- 4
Use a tooth pick to cut 4 circles out of cheese for the eyes. Use scissors to cut out 4 smaller circles for the eyes. Cut out 2 mouths as well.
- 5
Check the sizes over the plastic wrap.
- 6
Remove the plastic wrap and put the rice balls into your bento box. Add the face parts and it's done! Put your side dishes around the rice balls for a colorfully cute bento!

Jack O'Lantern Character Bento Jack O'Lantern Character Bento
It's almost Halloween! I can hardly wait to make this bento. It's better to make ketchup rice with warm rice so you can shape it without it crumbling. If you don't have any cheese, just use the nori for the eyes and mouth. (Affix the nori parts after the rice has cooled). Ketchup rice tends to stain the bento box, so we place an antibacterial sheet (or plastic wrap) under the rice. Recipe by seiji0609 cookpad.japan -
