Basque Onion Soup
My momma used to make the occasional grilled cheese with tomato soup; what chef Gordon Ramsay might know as 'comfort food'.
Here near the borderlands, with the occasional drought, a can of campbell's French Onion Soup mixed with Campbell's tomato juice can alleviate the water issues.
I topped it off with pan fried sliced white bread soaked in homemade pink cheese whiz. The reason it was pink was the Himalayan salt I used.

In a medium saucepan, mix tomato juice, french onion soup mix, and soup solids

Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer till ready to serve

Lightly cover the bottom of the frying pan with vegetable oil
- 4
In a separate bowl, dip the white bread in the liquid cheese till soaked on both sides
- 5
Fry cheese soaked bread in frying pan on both sides in medium heat

Spray top of each slice of cheese bread lightly on both sides with olive oil spray

Serve as desired.
