Soak tamarind in water for sometime to loosen up a little.

Then boil it in 2 cup water with salt,sugar,red chilli powder till a thick paste and tamarind seeds are soft

Strain through cheese cloth or strainer.remove seeds as many as you can.I left some soft mashed up seeds inside.

Collect the paste in a bowl.mix water to adjust consistency to your choice.give a quick boil. Cool and store in fridge
