Ingredients

25 minutes
5 people
  • 1ripe banana
  • 3/4 cupwheat flour
  • 1/4 cupfine semolina/suji
  • 2 tbspmawa
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1 tspghee
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • 1 tspcardamom powder
  • 1 tspfennel seeds
  • 2 tbspgrated dry coconut
  • Ghee or oil for deep frying Malpua
  • For sugar syrup..
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1/2 cupwater
  • 1/2 tspsaffron strands
  • 1/2 tspcardamom powder

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Firstly for sugar syrup, in a pan add sugar, water, saffron and cardamom. Cook it in low-medium flame for 10-15 minutes or until it turn sticky.
    Keep it aside.

    In a grinding jar add banana, suji flour, mawa, ghee, sugar, milk, cardamom, coconut and fennel seeds, grind till smooth.
    We need pouring consistency batter. Add more milk if required.
    Keep the batter aside for 20-30 minutes.

    Heat ghee for frying. Keep the flame on low-medium. Pour a ladle full of batter in the center. Do not spread the batter. It spread on its own, if the batter is of right consistency.
    When the edges turn golden flip and fry.

    When malpua is done, remove it from ghee and add to the luck warm sugar syrup directly.
    Keep it in syrup for 30 seconds.
    Remove it from syrup. Similarly make all malpuas.

    Garnish it with some chopped pistachios, rose petals and saffron strands.
    Serve hot or cold.
    Enjoy 😊.
