Start with marination.
Clean the chicken nicely. Take into a mixing bowl.
Now in a blender jar put all the above-mentioned ingredients for marination. Blend smooth. - 2
Put the marinade into the chicken and mix well. Each piece must be nicely coated.
Now cover and keep this in fridge for at least 30 minutes. - 3
Next heat a kadhai with oil. Add khada masala. Next add fried onion paste. Mix and let it get fried till it's rawness is lost. Add heaped spoons of chicken masala, add little water and mix.

Let this be in slow flame for sometime. Now take the marinated chicken, add and give a nice mix.
Cook in medium to high flame for sometime. Do not cover. - 5
Stir and mix intermittently. As it is fried at medium to high flame, it retains its juiciness.

Next cover and cook. Let chicken get cooked in its own juices at slow flame.
After about 10 minutes, mix again. If required add lukewarm water. - 7
Now it's almost ready. At this time add slit fresh green chillies and cover. It gives a very nice flavour. Adjust spiciness as you like. Check for salt.

Now add garam masala, Kasuri methi and little water. Mix all. Let it be on slow flame for sometime more.
If you want gravy add hot water and adjust consistency as per your requirement. - 9
It smells superb..add chopped coriander leaves and julians of ginger...

Serve hot with rice/ roti/ paratha
