Wash and soak the beans for 3-4 hours. You can mix any beans of your choice.

Drain off the water and transfer the beans to a pressure cooker. Add water, salt, baking soda and turmeric powder to it. Pressure cook till 4 whistles.

Mix all the spices as mentioned to make misal masala. Add 2-3 tbsp water to it and mix well.

Heat oil in a pan, add prepared misal masala paste to it and cook for a minute on low flame. Add the cooked beans to it. Add lemon juice. Mix well. Cover and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes. Check for the spices taste and add if anything required. Also add water if required.

Once misal is ready, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with some fresh chopped coriander leaves and mix namkeen. Serve with pav.
