Soak the chana dal for 3 hours. drain the excess water.

To a mixture, jar adds 1/2 cup soak chana dal,1/4 cup walnuts, fennel seeds, and salt. plus this a few times.

Transfer the ground chana dal mixture to a bowl, add ginger and chilies paste, curry leaves, coriander leaves,1/8 cup soak chana dal, and 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts, and mix well.

Make patties of the mixture and keep them aside. heat oil in a pan and shallow fry masala Vada on medium flame until they are golden brown in colour.

Serve them hot with green chutney or coconut Chutney.
