Steps
- 1
Whether it's peaches, plums, or apricots, you can cleanly remove the pits. ※If the fruit is unripe or over-ripe, it may be hard to do.
- 2
For apricots, first press the knife deeply into the grain of the fruit, pressing it up against the pit, spinning the fruit slowly to cut around the fruit.
- 3
Break the fruit open into two halves at the grain (like you would an avocado).
- 4
Flip the side with the pit intact upside down and press the knife into the center. Repeat the process from Step 2.
- 5
Break apart the two halves like in Step 3.
- 6
Pinch the pit and gently remove from the fruit. You should end up with 1 half and 2 fourths like in the picture.
- 7
This is the top view. Peaches and plums may be a little harder to do. If you can't easily get the pits out, use the knife to assist).
- 8
For peaches, peel them after you take the pits out. If it's a ripe peach, you can peel it with your hands like a banana ♪
- 9
You can also use this method for American cherries! The cherry pits are small, so they're a little harder to take out and might pop.
