Ingredients

15 minutes
2 servings
  • 2tomatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 4- 5 curry leaves
  • As neededCoconut milk,
  • 1 tsp f kokum juice or 2, 3 kokum,
  • as required garcinia indica
  • 1 Tspmustard seeds
  • Pinchasafoetida powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder,
  • to tastesalt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder,
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2Small bowls water
  • 1 tspoil

Steps

15 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash the tomatoes, cut the onion, cut green chillies and grate fresh coconut with a small bowl of water or use readily available coconut milk

    Then heat the vessel, then add oil to it. When it gets hot temper with mustard seeds and asafoetida.

    To this add the cut onion pieces and cut green chilli, curry leaves

    Cover the vessel with a lid and water on top. Ensuring that the onions don't get burned.

    Remove the cover after 2minutes and Then add the cut tomato pieces to it and mix all together nice then add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and sugar and cover with a lid with water on it which enables the tomato to cook in its own juices

    After 3 to 4 minutes remove the cover to check whether the tomatoes are getting cooked and soft and mashed around this consistency as seen below.

    Then add the kokum juice to it and 2 to 3 tsp of water and then the coconut milk with a small bowl of water.

    Let it come to 2, 3 boils. According to the liquid consistency you want can add water.
