Besan Ladoo

Besan ladoo is a traditional Indian sweet prepared during festivals and occasions. It is even prepared for a religious function as an offering to Lord. It is a delicious sweet which is prepared with gram flour, ghee and sugar. Cardamom powder and dry fruits are added to enhance the taste and flavour.

Cooking Instructions

Heat ghee in a pan and add gram flour to it. Mix it well and cook it on medium to low heat. At first the flour will absorb all the ghee and will look dry but as you keep on cooking, it will become soft and release ghee. Cook stirring continuously until it is aromatic, light and fluffy. When it is ready, it will be golden brown in color and it will taste nutty. Make sure it should not taste raw at all. Let it cool down completely at room temperature.

Now add cardamom powder and powdered sugar to it and mix it well. You can adjust the amount of sugar according to your taste. Now add crushed almond and cashew nuts to it and mix everything well. If you do not want to add nuts, just skip it.

Make 8 to 10 ladoo out of the mixture.

Garnish it with pistachio slivers and serve. It can be stored in an airtight container upto 2 weeks.
